About Holistic Reflexology
Reflexology is the study of reflex points on the feet which correspond to each organ and system in the body. One of the theories of reflexology suggests that energy flows from vital organs and systems through channels in the body and terminate to form the reflex points of the feet.
When this energy flow is blocked by stress, tension or congestion, disease occurs. By massaging these reflex points, the person is relaxed, the circulation improves and the blockages are broken down, harmony and energy balance within the body are restored. |
Note:
- Reflexology is available through the Calgary College of Health and Clinics Inc., for continuing education as a result of public demand.
- They are NOT part of the courses licensed under the Private Vocational Schools Act, nor are they offered as a part of the University of Calgary curriculum.

A Case of Irritable Bowel syndrome
"Dr. Hoffman was treating a 40-year-old, professional man, “very skeptical and rational”, for irritable bowel syndrome. “It’s a non-specific intestinal problem that can be really debilitating”, he says. “The man felt completely out of control and powerless in dealing with it.” He’s already seen a gastroenterologist for tests. We assessed his digestion, tried digestive aids, even manipulated his diet and found he wasn’t allergic to anything. We treated him for Candida, which often causes bloating, and gas, and that didn’t work. We worked on his style of eating. We tried stress reduction and relaxation, and that didn’t take. “Almost in desperation I said, “Go to a reflexologist, and who knows? Maybe that’ll will work”, And somehow it did!"
Dr. Ronald Hoffman, MD
